Faith Baptist Church's Recent Order:

6x9 Complete Packet with #10 Envelope - Design Style: Simply Classic

Faith Baptist Church selected our Simply Classic Design Style. After having Equip refresh their logo and turn it into a vector file, Faith Baptist Church elected to change the colors of the design style to match their branding. They also chose to remove the shapes originally in the design style and replace them with a soft green gradient. Faith Baptist also partners with Equip on projects such as banners and event tickets.

Questions and Answers with Faith Baptist Church

(Outreach Director at Faith Baptist Church)

1) Tell us about your church?

We are located in Champaign, IL. The church started in December of 1976. Our Sunday morning service has an average attendance of about 190. We also meet on Sunday and Wednesday evenings for service. We are an Independent Baptist Church that strives together in loving God, loving each other, and sharing the gospel with our community.

2) What do you like most about working with Equip?

First, we feel like we have a partner in the ministry when we work with Equip Ministry Resources.  One of the designers for our upcoming “Community Tent Revival” was so excited about working on the project that it made us comfortable that we had the right partner to help us with our Outreach Ministry.  We are all limited by time and talent, therefore, being able to have a company we can partner with that has the ability and desire to do things that we ourselves do not do well is a tremendous blessing. Lastly, we love the consistency in design that Equip Ministry Resources provides with all of their Guest Ministry materials.

3) What advice would you give to a church just starting a Guest Ministry?

The first piece of advice I would give to a church starting a Guest Ministry program is to treat each guest as they were sent by God himself and by showing hospitality you are pleasing our Lord and Savior.  Heb 13:2  “Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.” If we want God to send us more visitors we better treat the ones he is already sending us well.  Second, be sure to train greeters and ushers to make guests feel welcome.  Make sure they understand that they are an important part of the overall ministry and they have a great opportunity to show the love of Christ to visitors.  You only get one shot to make a first impression and the first impression tends to stick.  Third, have a nice looking informative welcome packet to give them.  We used to just have our guests fill out a visitor card and we would give them a pen.  Pens are nice, but they do not answer any of the questions your visitors surely have.  Pens get tossed in a drawer.  A well designed welcome packet will show that you have been expecting them and you want to help answer their questions about your church.  We follow up with our first time visitors with a letter on letterhead that matches the design of our welcome packets.  By having a consistent design with our welcome packets, letterhead, cards, banners, door hangers, etc you help your guest become familiar with your church.  Lastly, “go the extra mile” - we always make a personal visit to their home.  I cannot tell you how many times a guest has thanked us for visiting them at home.  A lot of times they will ask you questions in the comfort of their home that they would not ask you on a Sunday morning.  Nothing can replace one-on-one time with your guests.
